Game #3: Sunday, March 7th 2010

Game three, and another win by Pfaeffin who took revenge on yours truly only subtly. she made me “mürb(e)” – to use a german word I was lucky enough to find in the dictionary. i probably scored three measly points or something on the word, but got rid of my ümlaut.

straight from the beginning, Pfaeffin used her coffee and her game strategy very efficiently. i drank mine really really fast, while she drank it much slower – a fact that might explain my “success curve” in this game. it went up for like ten seconds in the middle of the game. the beginning and end were a catastrophe though. not enough and too much coffee.

also, Pfaeffin had two weeks to flash her teeth at me and plot for a revenge. i even spotted the dictionary next to her bed! not only that, she made made delicious raspberry bars – my only source of happiness besides my Barbie (c) coffee mug in a game commentators might call a “minor slaughtering.”

Final Score (note the new record):
pfaeffin ………………………. 247 pts (overall: 655 pts.)
markusbear …………………….. 234 pts. (overall: 680 pts.)

Game #2: Saturday, February 20th 2010

this time pfaeffin got slaughtered. like… really slaughtered. but i assume only this time, because next time she will take revenge on me. to our astonishment, this game had a religious and metaphysical direction: himmel, joch, segnet, ship, lords, eve, taufe, sühne,….

we are safe though, because as long as one of us comes up with the word nerds, we are good.

maybe wearing your glasses next time will help, pfaeffin?!

pfaeffin ……………………… 193 pts.
markusbear ………………… 245 pts.

(after two games, markusbear (446) leads the series against pfaeffin (408).

Game #1: Sunday, February 14th 2010

pfaeffin ………………….. 215 pts.
markusbear …………….. 2o1 pts.

first game. we need many more to get better, but this is a start to playing this game more frequently, to posting the results of the game on this here blog and thereby making ourselves subject to mockery.

but this is about the fun and the learning experience so that in a few weeks we can do more than add words like “no” or “me” to the table. i think that words like “gin” hint to a freudian way of playing the game, and the use of words like “hence” or “doubt” are very promising, hoping we get more and more existentialist each week.

here is to game one fueled by flips. may game two be fed solely by our intellects.
